Frequently Asked Questions

Here are answers to some issues people often have questions about. If you have a question not listed here, please feel free to call a funeral director or email us. One of our pages has a listing with our member funeral homes and their phone numbers which you can reach by clicking here.

Can I still have visiting hours and a service, even if I’m cremated?
Yes, you can have visiting hours and the service and then be cremated or the cremation can take place first, then your ashes (or frequently called, cremated remains) can be present for the visiting hours or service if you wish. Or the cremation could even occur after the visiting hours but before the service.

What if I prepay for my funeral but I move somewhere else and will have my services there?
Your pre-planned arrangements can be moved to another funeral home of your choice. This includes any funds that you have paid. Talk to your funeral director about what is required to transfer the arrangements.

Are babies or children buried in a special section of the cemetery?
Some cemeteries have a section for babies or children. Some cemeteries will also allow a baby to be buried on the same grave as someone else. An example of this would be a baby being buried on top of a grandparent already deceased. Each cemetery has its own policy in this matter; your funeral director will be able to advise you in this matter.
